According to Sky Germany, the club recently held a private meeting with the 21-year-old, laying out their long-term vision, which places Musiala at the heart of the team.
The talks have reportedly progressed positively, though it is expected that negotiations will take time.
Musiala, who is currently under contract until 2026, is assessing his options.
Despite interest from European giants such as Real Madrid and Manchester City, Musiala has not engaged in discussions with other clubs.
Bayern are keen to lock down Musiala on a deal that could extend to 2029 or 2030.
The club would need to offer a lucrative package, making him one of their highest-paid players alongside Harry Kane, with a reported annual salary of â¬25 million, including bonuses.
Club president Herbert Hainer expressed optimism, saying Musiala could "become the second Thomas Muller," a nod to the potential for Musiala to follow in the footsteps of the club legend.
Bayern remain confident that a long-term deal will be finalised in the coming months.
