Bayern Munich legend Manuel Neuer could sign one-year extension

Bayern Munich are set to offer their iconic goalkeeper Manuel Neuer a one-year contract extension, ensuring his presence at the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.

At 38 years old, Neuer, who will turn 40 during the campaign, remains a crucial figure for the Bavarian giants.

The extension, reported by football insider Fabrizio Romano, highlights Bayern's commitment to their long-serving goalkeeper, who has made 540 appearances for the club.

Currently eighth on the all-time appearances list, Neuer could surpass Franz Beckenbauer's 582 appearances to enter Bayern's top five, provided he stays injury-free.

Neuer's career has been marked by extraordinary achievements. Since joining Bayern in 2011 from Schalke, he has won 11 Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokal trophies, and two Champions League titles.

The German international also played a pivotal role in Germany's 2014 FIFA World Cup victory.

Despite facing injury setbacks over the years, including a broken rib that sidelined him at the end of 2024, Neuer is expected to return to action soon.
