Bayern Munich reportedly set to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae

In a significant transfer development, Bayern Munich are set to secure the services of Napoli's Kim Min-jae for a reported ‚¬47 million.

According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, the South Korean defender will sign a five-year contract with the Bundesliga giants until 2028.

The deal, which is expected to be finalized in the next two weeks, will activate Kim Min-jae's release clause, and his entourage is set to receive approximately ‚¬15 million in fees.

Having clinched the Bundesliga title last season, Bayern are leading the race to secure the 26-year-old's signature. Despite initial interest from Manchester United, as reported by Get Italian Football News, no substantial progress has been made by the English club.

Bayern's pursuit of Kim Min-jae stems from the potential departure of Lucas Hernandez, who has expressed a desire to leave after attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, Benjamin Pavard is also expected to exit the club in 2024, as he has informed the management of his intention not to extend his contract.

Following the successful acquisition of Kim Min-jae, Bayern will focus on bolstering their attacking options. While they have shown interest in Chelsea's Kai Havertz, current favourites Arsenal appear to be leading the race to secure the German striker's services.
