Betway Premiership: Merciless Stellenbosch put AmaZulu to the sword

Stellenbosch surged into the top half of the Betway Premiership on Thursday night thanks to a dominant 5-0 win over AmaZulu at the Kings Park Soccer Stadium.

The Cape Winelands outfit climbed up to seventh position, where they now enjoy a three-point lead over Usuthu, who are down in 10th with 16 points.

Khomotjo Lekoloane broke the deadlock in the 34th minute to give the visitors the lead, which they held until the half-time break.

The hosts were no doubt aiming to gather themselves during the interval, hoping to get themselves back on level terms in front of their supporters.

However, it was Stellies who kept the momentum and showed no mercy in front of goal.

Devin Titus made it 2-0, and it was only three minutes later when Chumani Butsaka scored a third on the hour mark.

Titus put the result beyond all doubt in the 66th minute with a fourth for the away side as he completed his brace.

Ten minutes from the end, Ibraheem Jabaar piled on the misery for AmaZulu as he netted their fifth to cap off a sensational win on the road.
