Borussia Dortmund eye loan move for Manchester United's Tyrell Malacia

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering a loan deal for Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Malacia recently made his comeback after a gruelling 550-day injury layoff following a double-knee operation.

He marked his return with an impressive 45-minute stint against Bodo/Glimt, fitting seamlessly into manager Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system.

However, with fellow left-back Luke Shaw also back from injury, Malacia's opportunities at Old Trafford could be limited.

A loan move to the Bundesliga could offer Malacia a chance to secure consistent first-team minutes, a vital step for a player eager to regain peak form.

Dortmund, known for developing talent, narrowly missed out on the UEFA Champions League title last season and are keen to strengthen their squad depth for another strong campaign.

The potential move, reported by German outlet BILD, would follow a trend of Premier League players, such as Ian Maatsen and Jadon Sancho, seeking development opportunities in Germany.

It also comes as Amorim continues to test Manchester United's squad composition early in his tenure.

The Portuguese manager remains unbeaten in his first three matches, including a commanding 4-0 victory over Everton.

For Malacia, a temporary switch to Dortmund could prove instrumental in revitalising his career, while Manchester United assess their depth ahead of a challenging season.
