Burnley are reportedly looking to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach loanee Jordan Beyer on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old defender centre-back gets regular game time at Burnley with 12 starts for the English Championship leaders following his loan from Gladbach in September 2022 until the end of the current season.
According to Bild, Burnley are very keen to sign Beyer on a new permanent contract but have NO purchase option on the current loan-deal and would need to find an amicable agreement with Gladbach, as the defender's contract at the Bundesliga club only falls due in 2026.
Asked about Beyer's loan to Burnley, Gladbach coach Daniel Farke said: "The loan is working out exactly the way we wanted it to. He has had to assert himself in a very physical league.
"His strengths, including dribbling, come into play with a team like Burnley. This year has been good for him football-wise and in terms of personality development.
"We are following his development very positively," Farke added.
The issue for Beyer is that he is by no means guaranteed a starting position should be return to Gladbach as they already have - Ko Itakura (25), Nico Elvedi (26) and Marvin Friedrich (26), who are three seasoned central defenders in their squad for next Bundesliga season.
