Relebohile Mofokeng netted in the first half while further goals by Patrick Maswanganyi and Deon Hotto saw the Buccaneers move up to eight points after four matches, one clear of Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Pirates made a strong start against their Ivorian opponents with Mofokeng and Dean Hotto going close to opening the scoring in the first 15 minutes.
The home team broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Mofokeng was set up by Mohau Nkota and the Bafana Bafana attacker calmly applied his finish.
For all their good build-up play, Pirates were forced to be content with a 1-0 lead at the halftime break which still gave the visitors a sniff in the encounter.
It did not take long after the interval for the home side to double their advantage when Maswanganyi showed good composure before beating goalkeeper Drissa Bamba.
The Soweto giants continued to dominate proceedings and Hotto wrapped up the game in the closing stages when he found the back of the net.
Jose Riveiro's charges will now switch focus to domestic matters when they travel to Cape Town City for a Betway Premiership encounter on Wednesday.
Pirates are currently second in the league standings, three points behind Mamelodi Sundowns but do have a game in hand on the defending champions.
