The Citizens were eliminated from the Carling Knockout by Richards Bay at the weekend via a penalty shoot-out.
Despite having ball possession in their favour, City could not make it count with Tinkler now looking to Manyama to bring back the spark.
"He's experienced you know, if there's someone who can help us with that creativity part, it's basically him. Now that we have two weeks where we can sit and work. Lebo now, I've put him in charge of making those front players aware that these are the situations when you get in that final third, this is where you need to show that creativity, this is where you need to take that risk," Tinkler said.
Manyama was not only the captain during his playing days at City, but a proven goal scorer too at the highest level.
Tinkler believes the ex-Kaizer Chiefs attacker now understands both sides.
"He can speak from personal experience on how to do that. So, I think he's learnt a lot, he's learnt the horrible side of being a coach, the blame is always yours when the team loses and he's starting to understand that but he'll grow," Tinkler added.
The City coach added that on the back of failing on their mission to get a trophy so far this season, there is a possibility to look at how they could beef up the team when the January transfer window opens.
"Massive blow, because obviously we set certain objectives and targets at the beginning of the season and currently, we are not meeting those targets, so it's obviously a massive blow. We will access that obviously now we've got Tshego [Tshegofatso Nyama] out, it looks serious.
“Fortune [Makaringe] looks very, very serious, unbelievable, ridiculous tackle. So, yeah we are gonna access that and start looking forward, seeing what we need to do."
