The match, held in Saudi Arabia, saw Barcelona overwhelm the Champions League holders with a dominant performance to claim their 15th Supercopa title.
Mbappe gave Madrid an early lead with a spectacular solo effort just five minutes in. However, Barcelona responded emphatically, with first-half goals from Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde leaving Ancelotti's men trailing 4-1 at the break.
Raphinha added a fifth for Barcelona early in the second half, compounding Madrid's misery. A glimmer of hope appeared when Wojciech Szczesny was sent off for a foul on Mbappe outside the box.
Although Real Madrid pulled one back shortly after the red card, Barcelona remained untroubled, cruising to a convincing victory.
Ancelotti expressed his disappointment in the post-match press conference, describing the performance as unworthy of the club's standards. "We didn't defend well," he said. "We tried pressing high and defending in a low block, but they scored far too easily.
"Collectively and individually, we didn't work hard enough."
While refraining from singling out underperformers, Ancelotti acknowledged Mbappe's standout display. "Mbappe had a very good game and scored a great goal, but the rest of the match is one to forget," he added.
"We have to recover and return to the form we've shown in recent weeks."
Madrid midfielder Luka Modric echoed the disappointment but called for unity and resilience. "We didn't expect to lose like that, but this is football," Modric said. "We're sorry to the fans, but there's a lot of season left. If we had to lose a trophy, we'd rather it be this one.
"Barcelona were the better team, and we must improve."
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised his side's exceptional performance. "I'm really proud of the team. It was an unbelievable display," he said.
The victory adds another trophy to Barcelona's collection and underscores their strong form this season.
