Head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised his team's performance, emphasising concentration and a strong attitude. There was also a surprising mention of young talent Endrick, who once again did not feature in the matchday squad.
"I saw the team focused, with a good attitude, and they deserved the win," Ancelotti remarked after the match, praising the effort put in by his players despite the absence of some key figures.
Kylian Mbappe continued his impressive form, playing a pivotal role in the victory. "He was active, dangerous, and scored a crucial goal that helped us control the game," Ancelotti said. "That's what we want from him - constant involvement and quality in front of goal."
The French forward's support from fans was also a key theme. "The supporters understand the team's current situation, and they backed Mbappe after Anfield because it was the right thing to do," Ancelotti acknowledged, referring to the recent tough results in the Champions League.
Jude Bellingham took the penalty in the second half, a decision made by both him and Mbappe. "When Vinicius (Junior) is on the pitch, he decides with Mbappe. Without Vinicius, it was up to Mbappe and Bellingham, and they decided that Jude should take it," explained Ancelotti.
With Real Madrid now just one point behind Barcelona, Ancelotti acknowledged the challenges his team is facing due to a string of injuries. "Despite the difficulties, we are fighting and playing with concentration, spirit, and attitude. That reassures me and gives me confidence. We'll solve the problems step by step, but for now, we're still in the fight," he said.
The manager also provided an update on Bellingham, who was substituted after taking a knock. "He had a blocked neck and couldn't continue, but I believe he'll be fine in a couple of days."
Real Madrid's physical condition came into focus, with Ancelotti noting the team's tiring schedule. "We had many chances to score more goals, but in the final minutes, you could see the effort. We arrived at 6am on Thursday after Liverpool and couldn't train, so it was normal to feel some fatigue towards the end," he explained.
Ancelotti addressed the pressure on his attacking players to score. "We are all focused on winning, but for forwards, scoring is more important than for midfielders. Both Brahim and Rodrygo played well. I was pleased with Rodrygo, and he'll be better in the next match."
The young Brazilian, Endrick, was again left out of the matchday squad, but Ancelotti remains patient. "What does he need to play? He needs to work. He didn't come on because Mbappe was very dangerous and the others were doing well. He'll be ready for the next match," Ancelotti said.
Mbappe's goal brought some relief, both for himself and for the team. "Yes, it was a relief for everyone. It was a spectacular goal with fantastic execution. Apart from that, his overall performance was very good," Ancelotti commented.
Ancelotti also praised Fran Garcia for his recent performances. "In recent games, he's played more and with quality. He's been very good. Fran is more attacking and helps us in certain games. But we also have another left-back with whom we've won two Champions League titles. Ferland is still a fantastic full-back."
Real Madrid's steady win over Getafe keeps them close to the top, with key players like Mbappe and Bellingham stepping up despite the team's ongoing injury woes.
