Chelsea complete huge club sale

Chelsea FC have on Saturday confirmed the sale of the club in its entirety from Roman Abramovic to American businessman Todd Boehly.

The club released a statement confirming that a "definitive agreement" has been entered into between the parties concerned, which is understood to be worth around R83.6-billion.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and definitive agreement was entered into last night to sell the Club to the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium," read the statement.

"It is expected that the transaction will be completed on Monday. The Club will update further at that time."

Chelsea was put up for sale by Abramovic in March after 19 years of ownership, during which the Blues won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three EFL Cups, two UEFA Champions Leagues, two Europa Leagues, and a FIFA Club World Cup crown.
