Chelsea keep tabs on rising Nigerian star Chrisantus Uche

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Nigerian striker Chrisantus Uche, following his impressive rise at La Liga side Getafe.

The 21-year-old, who joined Getafe from Ceuta for just 500,000 euro during the summer transfer window, has quickly established himself as the club's first-choice striker, displacing Borja Mayoral.

Despite scoring only one goal in ten La Liga appearances, Uche's performances have shown significant promise, catching the attention of top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea.

According to Football Espana, Chelsea are seriously considering making a move for the young forward, as his development aligns with their strategy of recruiting young, unproven talent.

Chelsea's interest mirrors their previous attempts to sign another Nigerian prospect, Samuel Omorodion, from Atletico Madrid, a deal that collapsed at the last minute.

Uche, currently valued at 5 million euro, is under contract with Getafe until 2028, with an option for an additional year.

Getafe, aware of his potential, could demand a higher fee in any transfer negotiations.

If Uche starts finding the back of the net more regularly, his growing reputation could attract even more clubs across Europe.
