Chelsea's defensive duo Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi could leave

Chelsea have opened the door for the departure of their defensive duo, Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi, this January transfer window.

Reports indicate offers are anticipated in the coming weeks as clubs look to capitalize on the Blues' squad reshuffle.

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea's manager, has reportedly given his approval for both players to leave, suggesting they do not align with his tactical vision. "Maresca has made it clear that neither Tosin nor Disasi fit into his system," sources have noted.

This follows the decision to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, preparing him to potentially fill any gaps left by the departing defenders.

The club are also considering offers for other squad players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, and Ben Chilwell, indicating a broader squad overhaul might be on the cards.

Tosin Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Fulham last summer, has had limited action, appearing in 10 Premier League games, starting seven. Brighton have shown interest, according to The Daily Mail, and are at the forefront of the race to sign him.

Chelsea are looking for between 25 million and 30 million pounds for the 27-year-old centre-back, who is keen on securing regular first-team football, preferably in the Premier League.

Axel Disasi, on the other hand, has not lived up to expectations since his move from Monaco for 38.5 million pounds in 2023. He has only featured in five league games this season and has been omitted from several matchday squads.

Interest from Serie A, Bundesliga, and some French teams has been reported, with Chelsea hoping to recover a similar fee if Disasi leaves.

In a surprising turn, Spanish media have suggested Real Madrid might consider a loan move for Chelsea's Reece James as an alternative to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, highlighting James's injury concerns but acknowledging his potential.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich have been linked with Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku. It's understood that Nkunku has agreed personal terms with Bayern, but any deal would likely need to include a hefty transfer fee of around 65 million euros.

However, Bayern's plans to keep their young forward Mathys Tel complicate any potential swap deal, as Christoph Freund, Bayern's sporting director, has stated, "We do not plan on selling Tel this transfer window."

These developments suggest a busy transfer period for Chelsea, aiming to streamline their squad while potentially bringing in new faces to fit Maresca's blueprint for success.
