Chelsea to send Brazilian teen Angelo to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg

According to the chief scout of French side Strasbourg, Chelsea are planning to loan out their young Brazilian Angelo for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

The 18-year-old winger, who was acquired from Santos for £13m earlier this summer, boasts an impressive record of 129 appearances and five goals across all competitions for the Brazilian team.

Having been part of Chelsea's summer tour to the United States, Angelo has already showcased his abilities in victories against Brighton and Wrexham this July.

Initially, it was decided that the Brazilian talent would undergo training with Chelsea during the summer.

However, now it seems he may have the opportunity to display his skills in Ligue 1 if he joins Patrick Vieira's side, as recommended by the scout.

"He won't be arriving straight away, as Chelsea want to integrate him into the club first," said Strasbourg chief scout Loic Desire.

"He'll come in August after the tour of the United States. We want to bring more variety to Patrick Vieira."

Notably, Strasbourg were recently acquired by BlueCo, Chelsea's American owners, adding an interesting twist to the potential loan deal.

Although the French club's president, Marc Keller, previously stated that receiving Chelsea players on loan wasn't initially part of their strategy, the loan move for Angelo could change their approach.

"It isn't the project," Strasbourg president Marc Keller recently stated regarding the strategy of loaning players from Chelsea.

"We have had meetings with the sports department to define the objectives. We will have more means to be more ambitious. Loic Desire will have the handle on discussions about players that could interest us if there are any. They also have to want to come to us."
