Confirmed: Sekhukhune United sign striker Andy Boyeli

Lethal Congolese forward Andy Boyeli has joined Sekhukhune United after being falsely linked with a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs.

Babina Noko confirmed on Thursday in a statement that Boyeli has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, making the switch from Zambian side Power Dynamos.

The capture of a player that scored 18 goals last season will be celebrated, with the hope that he can repeat the same feat in the DStv Premiership, although Sekhukhune are yet to confirm who takes over as their new coach.

Lehlohonolo Seema has since been let go after the option on his contract was not renewed on the back of a fallout with the hierarchy.

"The club wishes to thank the Board of Directors at Dynamos for the professional manner in which the negotiations for the transfer of Boyeli were handled," the statement from Babina Noko read as they confirmed the signing.

It has put an end to ongoing speculation that Boyeli, 23, was heading to South Africa to join Chiefs as part of the shake-up at Naturena following the imminent appointment of coach Nasreddine Nabi and assistant Fernando Da Cruz.

"The Congolese goal ace joins Babina Noko on a three-year contract and is expected to arrive in Johannesburg early next week to join his new teammates for pre-season having spent the break in his native country,” his new club added further details.

Boyeli was the 2022/23 Zambian Super League Footballer of the Year and has been the top goal scorer at Dynamos over the past two campaigns, ending his spell there with an impressive 18 goals.

Sekhukhune will need that streak to continue with the side returning to the CAF Confederation Cup in August after a fourth place finish in the league.
