Daniel Cardoso applauds Sekhukhune United recruitment

Sekhukhune United defender Daniel Cardoso says he has every reason to believe the club can improve on last season following their recruitments.

Babina Noko, who have again strengthened coach Lehlohonolo Seema’s team’s with some high-profile names, ended the 2023/24 campaign in fifth place.

Cardoso is optimistic about the remaining six months of the season.

"I think we're still on the same path as we were in the beginning of the season, and it's football – you're going to win some and lose some," said Cardoso.

"At the moment, I think we're grinding and working hard, and as you can see, we are picking up now, so hopefully it can remain that way and we take it until the rest of the season."

The former Kaizer Chiefs centre-back adds an example of the good acquisitions by Sekhukhune has been former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keletso Makgalwa.

"A brilliant player [Makgalwa] – as you can see, he's been one of our stand-out performers and I'm glad the club has given him a chance, and he's proving his worth," he added.

"He always has been [good] and now he's starting to prove it, which is good especially for himself, and he's also starting to get into the groove, so as time goes on, I think we'll see a lot more goals from him."
