Despite two consecutive La Liga draws, Simeone remains optimistic about the season's progress.
Reflecting on the match, Simeone compared the team's performance to a recent win: "It wasn't much different from the game we played in Bilbao. We won there and drew today. The team found the goal, defended very well with a collective effort. They only had one set-piece opportunity.
"We missed the chance to capitalise on the space we had for counter-attacks, but credit to the opposition as well. I take the positives from our defensive work, and we continue to seek improvements in our transitions. We have players capable of making that happen."
Simeone also addressed the equalising goal from their opponents, admitting it was a brilliant strike. "It was a fantastic goal from 35 metres. The lead-up involved a loss of possession, but it was still an incredible goal.
"We need to improve on those small details, but you can't take anything away from that strike."
The Argentine coach remains optimistic about his team's future, stressing the need to improve attacking transitions. "I see the team as very solid defensively, well-organised, and doing what the game demands. We need to get better at transitions.
"We've got the players for it, but at the moment, it's preventing us from fully utilising the pace and skill we have upfront."
Simeone also noted the positive overall performance this season. "We haven't lost yet and have four wins under our belt. The numbers are good.
"We're working very well in a league where the top team has won eight out of nine matches, and the second-place team is only four points behind. We're making progress, especially moving from defence to attack."
Newcomers Clement Lenglet and Javi Galan were given a chance to impress, and Simeone was pleased with their contributions. "It wasn't a test, but it was a good opportunity. Both players responded well. Clement has been working with great respect and played a solid game today.
"Javi also worked hard, particularly in his battle with Kubo. He couldn't attack as much as we'd hoped, but he's got a natural left foot that we lack in that position. It's a good opportunity for them to show what they can offer going forward."
Simeone's focus remains on building from the defensive foundation, with hopes that the attacking side will soon click into gear.
