SuperSport United slid into first position in the DStv Diski Challenge standings at the weekend, following Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates' draw.
SuperSport United 5-2 Chippa United
Matsatsantsa were off to a flying start as Makhubo opened the scoring in the 18th minute before their lead was doubled shortly thereafter thanks to Bez.
Shandre Campbell piled on the misery for Chippa early in the second half to make it 3-0, and Bez completed his brace four minutes later to put the result beyond doubt.
Chippa enjoyed a bounce back just after the hour mark with a couple of goals, but Matodzi Tendamudzimu capped off the win for SuperSport in the 83rd minute with a fifth goal.
The win put SuperSport at the top of the table with a one-point lead over second-placed Cape Town City, and left Chippa rock-bottom with only 10 points from 21 games.
Cape Town City 1-1 Orlando Pirates
The two other title challengers locked horns at Cape Town Stadium where the hosts took the lead just shy of the half-time interval.
A penalty from Khumalo levelled matters for the Buccaneers, and that's how the score remained for the rest of the game as they had to settle for a point each.
The result left City one point behind SuperSport, while Pirates are a further two points off the pace in third.
Marumo Gallants 1-6 Mamelodi Sundowns
The Thohoyandou Stadium played host to a feast of goals but the vast majority of them came from the visiting Sundowns team.
Gallants scored one in the 55th minute, but Masandawana were merciless on attack and racked up two goals in the first half before sending another four into the back of the home team's bruised net to secure three easy points.
