Edin Terzic hails Borussia Dortmund progress on USA Tour

After an eventful USA Tour, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic expressed his thoughts on the team's performance and new signings.

Following the intense friendly match against Chelsea that ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday, Terzic shared his insights before the team's journey back to Germany.

Reflecting on the Chelsea match on the club official website, Terzic said, "It was an important test for us. The match was fiercely contested, and our players displayed great passion. Over the course of our 10-day trip, we've shown consistent improvement from game to game. Despite not securing a clean sheet until the final whistle, the effort the lads put into training and matches deserves a big compliment. It's evident that we are on the right path."

Regarding the USA Tour, Terzic emphasized the team's dedication to learning and growth. "We worked on new concepts daily and sought to enhance our coordination and performance on the training pitch. The progress was evident, especially when comparing our performance in San Diego a week ago. Against Manchester United, we improved significantly, and today's procedures were even clearer. We also provided valuable opportunities for our young players to showcase their talents against Chelsea in Chicago, and they displayed remarkable courage, which we wanted to see," he said.

On Ramy Bensebaini, the coach expressed satisfaction with the defender's swift integration into the team. "Ramy settled in seamlessly from day one and consistently impressed in training, making a strong case for himself in matches. Despite facing a minor injury during the game, he displayed tremendous courage and excelled both in attack and defense. We have high hopes for his continued progress," Terzic commented.

Regarding Marcel Sabitzer, Terzic had nothing but praise for the midfielder's performance. "Marcel can take on a leading role right from the start. His performance today was exceptional, showcasing excellent off-the-ball movement, versatility across flanks, and a fearless approach in challenges. He made a significant impact on our game," Terzic said.

The USA Tour proved to be a valuable learning experience for Dortmund, with promising displays from the new signings Bensebaini and Sabitzer offering a glimpse of the team's potential for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
