The Citizens dropped points yet again away to Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon when they clawed their way back to draw the fixture 2-2.
With City now at risk of failing to hold on to their Top 8 spot in the six remaining matches, Tinkler is aware he will be held responsible.
"That's the nature of the beast, you know, top goal scorer because he's a good goal scorer. [When the] top goal scorer is not scoring it's because the coach is not getting him to score, that's the nature of the beast, massive. Obviously, it's a concern, we're a very ambitious club that want to achieve things you know. Now, we've gotta go back, reset then next game against Arrows," Tinkler said.
City are yet to win a match in 2024 and although Tinkler saw signs of improvement at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, it wasn’t enough.
"Effort today [Sunday] I thought was much much better which is something I wanted to see from the players. They put in the effort, in some of the games they haven't. It's not easy, everybody thinks that it's easy to come here and get three points against Polokwane, no it's a fight, it's a battle," Tinkler added.
But asked if there was something to build on for the rest of the season, Tinkler wasn’t too optimistic in his response.
"Very little, because like I said you know we've been doing this now for three years and if you haven't learnt it by now then I don't know, then when are you gonna learn? The fact that we're still making the same mistakes three years down the track is a little bit confusing to me. So, that's obviously something that I need to deal with."
