If Arrows and Swallows win against their relegation-threatened opponents, United will avoid relegation, following their one-draw with Mamelodi Sundonws, which moved them a point ahead of Gallants and Chippa. Davids says suspicion over the final results in the Motsepe Foundation Championship has brought a lot of uncertainty.
"Arrows is a professional team, they have professional players, and they want to get into the top eight. Swallows, their form now in the last couple of games is really outstanding, and now to push for the top eight as well. I have full faith that they are pushing for the win, of both teams. It's just unfortunate that things come up because we are not playing at the same time. Of course, what happened in the first-division promotion fight left a bitter taste. It ignites unnecessary talks"
Both Arrows and Swallows have 37 points and are competing for the top eight with Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United, who have the same number of points. Davids, however, has no doubts about the professionalism of the teams participating.
"I'm fully convinced with the Chairlady CEO [Mato Madlala] will make sure they are professional. The Swallows Chairman David [ Mogashoa] will do it as well to be able to be professional, and go for the top eight because it's a huge achievement for both clubs."
