Former Bayern director says Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is only 'thinking of Real Madrid'

Former Bayern Munich sporting director Michael Reschke has no doubt that Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz will join Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.

Reschke asserts that neither Bayern Munich nor Arsenal will secure Wirtzâ™s signature, as the Spanish giants are currently in the lead for the talented midfielder.

Wirtz's stellar performances this season have attracted interest from some of Europeâ™s top clubs, who are already preparing for future transfers.

As a key player for Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning Bundesliga champions, Wirtz has also caught the attention of Arsenal and Bayern Munich. However, Real Madrid seems to be in the strongest position to acquire the German international when the transfer window opens.

Reschke is among those who believe Wirtz's future lies at the Santiago Bernabéu. He feels that, despite Bayern Munich's status as one of Europeâ™s elite clubs, Wirtz has his sights firmly set on joining Real Madrid.

This perspective is echoed by other notable figures in football, including former player Michael Ballack, who has hinted at a potential move to Madrid for Wirtz in the near future.

Reschke remarked that while Bayern Munich is "one of the five best clubs in Europe, it is clear that Wirtz is thinking of signing for Real Madrid."

He speculates that Real Madrid may be gearing up for significant changes in the summer, including the potential replacement of current manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Reschke suggested that Xabi Alonso, a former Real Madrid player currently managing in the Bundesliga, could take over the managerial role at Madrid and bring Wirtz along with him.

"My personal opinion is that Wirtz will join Real Madrid. I think Carlo Ancelotti will be replaced by a Spaniard who currently plays in the Bundesliga (Xabi Alonso). Then it is very possible that he will take his favourite player. I have the feeling that everything could fall into place," he added.

Should this transfer take place, any club interested in signing Wirtz will need to be ready to meet Bayer Leverkusen's substantial asking price, expected to be around €150 million.
