The Buccaneers and Stellies will go toe to toe in the final of the competition on Saturday in Durban, with the Black and White challenging for their third title in a row. The Matroosfontein-born midfielder cum defender says it would do a world of good to the young ones in the Western Cape, especially off the field, if Stellenbosch was to lift the trophy.
"I am going to support Stellenbosch because we need teams to win trophies in Cape Town. Also, those guys are the role models for the next generation coming through because we have too little role models in sport. The role models are mostly where we don't need them or don't want them," Sait said.
Sait says he has been impressed by the start of the season with several teams showing intention early while others struggled, including his former employers AmaZulu. He gives a verdict of what he saw.
"I have seen the best game, Chiefs against Sundowns, nice tactical game, nice to see plus minus 80 000 people in the stadium. If we can get 20 000 of all those 80's to fill up the other stadiums and then we'll still be happy," he added.
"My team that I support, Pirates is doing pretty well. They look very exciting if they can just get the consistency that they lack over the past few seasons. The other team that I really have the soft sport for, AmaZulu, battling at this moment in time, I'm hoping they can pull it out.
"Stellenbosch playing next level, you don't wanna get Stellenbosch on their best day because anyone of those top teams they'll get a hiding from Stellenbosch if they're not on their toes.
"So yeah, football started off well, I'm hoping it's gonna continue and I'm hoping the way we saw the crowd. I mean, I know Stellenbosch draws nice crowds also because the product is getting better. So, it's a matter of clubs marketing their teams and us going to support the teams in our areas."
