He last kicked a ball last season when he was offloaded by the Durban side and has been on a hunt for a club.
Maluleka is excited at the prospect of resuscitating his career with new kids on the block who were promoted to the second division this season.
He says he wants to contribute to the success of the team.
"I want to thank the owners of Kruger United, I keep saying I'm very excited because I've been training, I knew something was going to come. My focus is here right now, so like I said I'm excited for us to come, the chairman, the coach, they've stated very clearly that they wanna go to the top and I really hope I can be able to contribute,” Maluleka said.
“I believe I can, I still have a lot more to give and a lot of inspiration, a lot of encouragement to the guys and the team is looking really good hence I'm saying, I'm very excited to work with the guys."
Maluleka is not new to this level of football as he ran out for the University of Pretoria in the same division 15 years ago.
"It's nothing new, I mean football will always be football obviously it's a different level but I always believe that before anything, before you are a superstar or professional footballer, or celebrity, you are always a human being at first. Which is why I said, I'm gonna take this opportunity and I'm gonna run with it," he added.
The 35-year-old Maluleka has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the Betway Premiership.
"Anything is possible, I will always push myself to the limit. I always say the sky is the limit, I will always push myself, I'll push myself all the time when given an opportunity, whenever I'm on the field, I will run like there's no tomorrow."
Kruger United will face Baroka FC in Lebowakgomo on Saturday.
