Ghana: Asante Kotoko coach not discouraged by slow start

Dr. Prosper Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has expressed his unwavering determination to revitalise the club's performances.

The Porcupine Warriors find themselves in the 14th position on the Ghana Premier League table, having accumulated 10 points from nine games, a situation that has left fans and stakeholders less than impressed with their current standing.

Acknowledging the expectations stemming from his prior successful tenure with the club, Dr. Ogum urged all Kotoko stakeholders not to succumb to panic. Despite the team's lacklustre start, he remains undeterred in his commitment as the head coach.

In addressing concerns about the team's performance, Dr. Ogum emphasised that discouragement has no place in his coaching approach, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the team back on course.

"You are looking at my performance now based on what I did previously which you are right... so now you don't doubt me, you expect that I should be able to do it," he said.

"Why should the coach panic? The moment you panic you have lost it. Why should the leader of a war team panic? You don't have to panic.

"We are down but we are not out. For me as a coach, I am not discouraged."
