Ghanaian teen Gabriel Misehouy shines in La Liga debut

Ghanaian prodigy Gabriel Misehouy made an unforgettable debut in La Liga, scoring with his very first touch for Girona FC during their clash with Real Betis on Thursday night.

At just 19 years old, Misehouy, who recently joined Girona from AFC Ajax, made an immediate impact in Spain's top division.

Substituted in the 70th minute, he scored just two minutes later, equalising for Girona in a crucial 1-1 draw at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

His goal not only salvaged a crucial point for Girona but also marked his arrival as a standout talent in La Liga.

Misehouy's summer transfer to Girona was fuelled by his desire to make a name for himself in one of Europe's elite leagues, and his debut performance suggests he is well on his way.

Girona's coach, Michel, while acknowledging Misehouy's raw talent, stressed the need for further development.

"Gabriel is an immensely talented player, but he still needs to develop a collective mindset to truly excel," Michel told DAZN.

"He's got a lot of potential, but it's crucial that he adapts and contributes to the team's overall effort."

Having left Ajax in search of more playing time and growth, Misehouy's stellar start to the 2024-25 La Liga season has set high expectations for his future contributions to Girona.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on the young forward to see if he can build on this promising debut and continue to impress.
