Hansi Flick's Barcelona ready for battle in El Clasico showdown at Bernabeu

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has expressed confidence ahead of their highly-anticipated clash against Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday.

Despite only one day's rest after their midweek fixture, Flick showed no signs of frustration and instead praised his players' commitment and adaptation.

Speaking after their training session today (Friday), Flick emphasised the team's unity and preparation.

"We're eager to play," Flick said. "It's going to be a fantastic match." With Real Madrid's speedy attack, Flick acknowledged the challenge, yet he's assured his squad is up to it, showing progress in both defence and attack.

"We have our game plan. We used it against Bayern and realised where we could improve. The team's been doing brilliantly both on and off the ball," Flick shared. "Every game brings adjustments, and we're ready to face Madrid's speed."

Asked about the shorter rest period compared to Carlo Ancelotti's side, Flick remained unfazed. "We can't control it. Madrid played Tuesday; we played Wednesday.

"The players are used to it and have trained well. Each team has their own challenges," he stated, urging his players to focus on their performance over anything else.

Young stars Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal have particularly impressed Flick with their performances. Lopez contributed to three goals recently and is showing great consistency.

"I haven't decided if he'll start, but Fermin brings pressure and creativity with the ball, exactly what we needed," said Flick. "Lamine, too, has done everything asked of him. His speed and use of space are incredible, especially against top teams like Bayern."

As Flick prepares his side for the Bernabeu, he dismissed concerns over officiating controversies, expressing his trust in the officials and urging his players to focus solely on the game. "I've had positive experiences with referees. Our focus is on performance, not the officials.

"If there's an issue, there's VAR. My team knows to stay focused."

In what promises to be an electric atmosphere, Flick reiterated Barcelona's commitment: "This is the Clasico, the ultimate showdown.

"We play for the fans, for the city, and to win. The spirit is high, and we're ready to give it everything."
