Hansi Flick warns of Brest challenge as Barcelona seek crucial win

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has urged his side to stay focused ahead of their pivotal Champions League clash against Brest on Tuesday night at Montjuic.

With Barcelona sitting on the cusp of securing a spot in the knockout stages, Flick praised Brest's impressive European campaign, warning against underestimating the French outfit, who remain unbeaten in the competition.

"Brest are a strong team," Flick said during his pre-match press conference. "It's vital we control possession and take all three points.

"Every game at this level is different, and we must eliminate errors and play with more consistency on the ball."

Barcelona come into the match under pressure following a frustrating week in La Liga, where they suffered a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad and squandered a 2-0 lead to draw with Celta Vigo. Flick highlighted the importance of learning from those setbacks, especially for his youthful squad.

"This is a young team with immense quality," Flick explained. "Mistakes are part of the process. We need to defend better and manage pressure from the back.

"But the players are improving, and I'm confident we'll deliver a strong performance tomorrow."

Injury Woes Persist for Barca

The Catalans will be without teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who is still recovering from a muscle issue. "Lamine's talent is incredible," Flick said. "He creates spaces and controls the game so well.

"Hopefully, he'll be ready for the weekend." Alejandro Balde will also miss out, with Flick opting to rest the defender.

Meanwhile, Brest manager Eric Roy faces his own selection challenges, with midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou and full-back Bradley Locko unavailable.

However, the French side, currently fourth in the group with three wins and a draw, will aim to extend their remarkable form in Europe.

"We must focus entirely on this game," Flick added. "Winning at home puts us in a strong position for qualification, but there's still work to do."

Probable Line-ups

Barcelona: Inaki Pena; Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martínez, Hector Fort; Pablo Martin Paez Gavira (Gavi), Pedro Gonzalez Lopez (Pedri); Raphael Dias Belloli (Raphinha), Fermin Lopez Marin, Dani Olmo; Robert Lewandowski.

Kick-off is set for 21h00 CET, as Barcelona look to steady their form and secure a vital three points in the race for the knockout rounds.
