Harry Kane declared fit as Bayern Munich eye victory over Aston Villa

The England captain had caused concern after limping off with an ankle injury in Bayern's 1-1 draw with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, but he confirmed that he'd be ready for the European encounter.

Kane, who took part in Bayern's final training session on Tuesday, eased fans' fears, saying, "It was just a knock, nothing serious. I'm ready to go."

His availability will be crucial as Bayern aim to extend their impressive start to the season, having dropped points for the first time under manager Vincent Kompany against Leverkusen.

Bayern have won all their matches this season except for that draw, and they opened their Champions League campaign with an emphatic 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, also began their European journey positively with a 3-0 away win over Young Boys.

Aston Villa, currently fifth in the Premier League, face some injury setbacks, with key players like Boubacar Kamara, Tyrone Mings, and John McGinn all ruled out.

Bayern Munich will be without Arijon Ibrahimovic, Sacha Boey, Josip Stanisic and Hiroki Ito, but Kane's fitness could be the deciding factor.
