Al Hilal have not beaten Sundowns in 15 years and this afternoon they will be desperate to end this dominance to book their qualification to the last eight.
According to Mokwena, Florent Ibenge’s Hilal are a special outfit.
"No, football is not played in history. Hilal are a good team now with Florent Ibenge, they were a good team even last season and the season before with coach Ricardo [Formosinho], who has now become a very good friend of mine after meeting here," said The Brazilians' unbeaten tactician.
"So, it's still a good team with very good players – [Mohamed] Abdelrahman is very important for them, [Makabi] Lilepo is very important, [Ibrahim] Imoro is an incredible player at full-back, [Atthar] Eltahir at right full-back also very important...
"So, there are a lot of very good players and [they are] a very good that have good possibilities to hurt us, so we have to respect them.
"The conditions will be difficult too, so we have to make sure that we don't play based on history and we play the match tomorrow [Saturday]."
Record 10-time African champions Al Ahly, who beat Coton Sport 4-0 in Garoua in Cameroon last night, will be hoping Sundowns avoid a loss so that they still have a chance to sneak into the last eight ahead of Hilal from Group B.
The match will be broadcast LIVE on SABC Sport Channel on DTT Channel 4, Openview 124, SABC + and sabcsport.com at 15:00.
