Is Florian Wirtz's future be at Bayer Leverkusen or Bayern Munich?

Bayern Munich are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, with the 21-year-old midfielder emerging as one of Europe's most coveted talents.

Reports suggest Leverkusen could demand a staggering 150 million euro for their prized asset, but Bayern's former chairman Oliver Kahn believes the club have the financial muscle to make such a move.

"Absolutely. It's no secret that Bayern can do a lot financially if they want to," Kahn told Sport1. He added that while the Bavarians might need to offload a few players to balance the books, their ambition could outweigh budget constraints.

"The budget is quickly forgotten, the main thing is that the player comes."

Wirtz, already under contract with Leverkusen until 2027, has been instrumental in his side's strong performances this season. His creativity, vision, and scoring ability have drawn interest from top European clubs, but Kahn noted that the player's measured approach to his career might see him remain in Leverkusen longer.

"The whole world is open to him at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if he extended his contract," Kahn said.

Meanwhile, Bayern youngster Adam Aznou has ruled out a loan move in January, despite limited first-team opportunities.

The 18-year-old right-back, who debuted in 2024, is focused on fighting for his place at the club. "I don't want to go on loan at the moment," Aznou told Bild. "Maybe in the summer we will talk about it, but I want to fight for my place among the professionals. That's a big challenge at Bayern."

As Bayern weigh their options for Wirtz and continue to nurture talents like Aznou, the club's approach signals a blend of long-term planning and ambition to remain among Europe's elite.
