Jagoba Arrasate's bold approach revitalises Mallorca's away form

Mallorca have found new life this season, with manager Jagoba Arrasate transforming the team into a force to be reckoned with, both at home and away.

The club's recent La Liga performances have drawn comparisons to their glory days, as Mallorca have secured two wins from their first three away matches, something that hasn't been achieved in over two decades.

After a narrow defeat to Osasuna in their opening away fixture, Mallorca bounced back impressively with victories against Leganes (1-0) and Real Betis (2-1).

This outstanding start mirrors the 2002-2003 campaign, the last time Mallorca managed such success on the road. Coincidentally, that season also saw them triumph over Real Betis in their third away match before defeating Valladolid in their fourth away fixture, with a 3-1 win featuring a memorable hat-trick from Walter Pandiani.

These parallels have sparked excitement among Mallorca's faithful, who are beginning to believe that something special could be brewing this season.

Currently, the club have amassed 11 points from their opening seven matches, courtesy of three wins, two draws, and two defeats.

These figures are among Mallorca's best starts in recent memory, with only two better starts in the 21st century: the 2009-10 season, when they earned 13 points after seven games and finished fifth with 62 points, and the 2002-03 season, when they collected 12 points and eventually won the Copa del Rey, ending the league campaign in ninth place.

These statistics have fuelled dreams of Mallorca's return to prominence.

With two more away fixtures before the October international break, Mallorca are gearing up for crucial clashes against newly-promoted sides Valladolid and Espanyol.

"We're not afraid of playing away from home anymore," said Arrasate, whose bold and effective tactics have instilled confidence in the squad.

The team's fans eagerly await the upcoming matches, hopeful of maintaining their impressive form.

Mallorca's supporters are daring to dream once again, as Arrasate's fearless approach continues to pay dividends.
