Jan-Christian Dreesen, new CEO of Bayern Munich, to lead club into new era

Jan-Christian Dreesen, the recently appointed CEO of Bayern Munich, is filled with enthusiasm as he embarks on his new position.

Recalling his initial decision to join Bayern Munich, Dreesen expressed his gratitude, stating, "I had wonderful years here, and it was one of the best decisions of my life a decade ago. Despite having other life plans, when it's a matter of the heart, one should consider changing course. I would like to extend my thanks to the entire Supervisory Board for this opportunity. The upcoming weeks will undoubtedly present challenges, but I eagerly anticipate taking on this new endeavor," Dreesen remarked, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.

Dreesen's approach to his new position emphasizes collaboration, as he plans to work closely with the supervisory board to ensure the club progresses in the right direction.

"We are a team, and the Supervisory Board possesses an abundance of football expertise. I have worked closely with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on transfer dealings in the past. Naturally, as the CEO, I will engage in our core business of football in an appropriate manner," Dreesen affirmed. "Mr. Hainer and I have had extensive discussions in recent days. When offered the opportunity to become CEO of Germany's largest club, it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. I didn't hesitate to accept."

Furthermore, Dreesen intends to foster strong relationships with other prominent German clubs, particularly Borussia Dortmund.

"As a member of the DFL Presidium, I have had fruitful discussions with Hans-Joachim Watzke. When Herbert Hainer approached me about assuming the role of CEO, the decision was straightforward. I will continue to be available to the DFL Executive Committee. A respectful rapport is invaluable and yields greater long-term results than disputes," Dreesen explained.

"I firmly believe that the on-pitch performance mirrors the club as a whole. When individuals derive enjoyment from their work and trust one another, teamwork flourishes. This, in my view, is one of my primary responsibilities. I also derive great satisfaction from engaging with the fans."
