John Maduka thrilled with Sinki Mnisi’s return

Royal AM coach John Maduka has expressed excitement over the return of veteran football administrator Sinky Mnisi to the team.

The former Highlands Park boss has made an unexpected comeback to the KwaZulu-Natal side, where they enjoyed huge success that saw Thwihli Thwahla qualifying for the CAF Confederations Cup.

Maduka believes the COO will have a huge impact on the team.

"It's good to have a veteran that's Mnisi, back to the team. He's been in the game for a long, long time so to have him back in the team is a bonus for us. We are very happy to have him in the team and we know that he's a very professional man. There are so many things that he will help the team with," Maduka said.

Maduka made an expected decision in their Betway Premiership clash against Cape Town City, that ended in a 1-1 draw, to start with club boss and player Andile Mpisane, but his performance received different reactions from the crowd.

The coach says things like that happen in football.

"The chairman himself, we gave him a chance, he played, he did whatever he was supposed to do and then we had to change and put someone else. I mean it's part of football, it's part of the game things like that will happen here and there,” the coach explained.

“It's just a normal situation where if he's given a chance to play, he plays. There are times where maybe he'll be given 15 or 20 minutes, it will be a situation like that depending on what happens in the field of play."

Royal AM is currently facing a FIFA ban, which has forced them to rely on their Diski Challenge graduates.

The youngsters did not disappoint against Cape Town City, as they fought back to get a point.
