Niclas Fullkrug kicked off the scoring in the 27th minute, with Jamal Musiala providing the assist. The second half saw Germany score four additional goals within a 23-minute span.
Musiala extended Germany's lead, with Wirtz providing the assist before Wirtz himself scored, with Musiala returning the favor by assisting the Bayer Leverkusen player.
Musiala later set up his Bayern Munich teammate Aleksandar Pavlovic for Germany's fourth goal, and Kai Havertz completed the tally with a penalty.
Nagelsmann was full of praise for Wirtz and Musiala, asserting that both have the potential to emulate Lionel Messi, an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who has claimed the award five times.
"Both have the potential to win the Ballon d'Or," Nagelsmann stated during his press conference.
Despite a title-winning season that earned Wirtz a nomination for this year's award, Musiala was not included. Nagelsmann, who has affectionately dubbed the duo "Wusiala", emphasized their exceptional talent, saying, "they have the talent, and they can do anything."
He also commended the "hard work" that both players put into every performance.
