Juventus eyeing Jonathan Tah as January transfer target

Juventus are reportedly targeting German defender Jonathan Tah as a potential signing in January to strengthen their defensive lineup.

The 28-year-old center-back from Bayer Leverkusen has emerged as a viable replacement for the injured Gleison Bremer, who is likely facing an early end to his season.

Tah is known for his impressive combination of speed and physicality, standing nearly 2 meters tall and excelling in aerial duels, anticipation, and one-on-one situations. His experience at Leverkusen, where he has won the Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the German Super Cup, makes him an appealing option for the Turin club.

The German international of Ivorian descent is in the final year of his contract with Leverkusen, which has also attracted interest from Inter Milan. However, Inter appears more inclined to pursue Tah on a free transfer in the summer.

For Juventus to secure Tah's services in January, several conditions need to be met. First, the club would likely have to offload players, with Tiago Djala and Arthur considered prime candidates for departure. Additionally, Tah would need to agree to a salary that fits within Juventus' budget, ideally not exceeding 4-5 million euros annually.

A critical factor will be Bayer Leverkusen's asking price for Tah. The German club may be motivated to negotiate a fair fee to avoid losing him for free next summer, potentially creating an opportunity for Juventus to finalize a deal.

As the January transfer window draws near, Juventus will carefully assess their options. The addition of Tah could provide a significant boost to their defense, particularly in light of Bremer's absence. However, the club's ability to manage financial limitations and negotiate with both the player and Leverkusen will be essential in making this transfer happen.
