Chiefs complete double over Pirates, but Zwane wants more

Kaizer Chiefs completed a DStv Premiership double over Orlando Pirates following the 1-0 win against their rivals on Saturday.

But coach Arthur Zwane says he doesn’t want the players to only raise their game when they face the Buccaneers in the Soweto Derby.

Chiefs beat Pirates in October thanks to a stunning Yusuf Maart goal, but defender Olisa Ndah’s own goal proved costly for the 10-men Buccaneers this time.

"We always want to put a smile on our supporter's faces, we always want to see them happy but it's just another three points for us, I don't want the players to focus only on beating Orlando Pirates," he said.

Chiefs travel to Durban next weekend to face Richards Bay, a game that would indicate to Zwane whether the Glamour Boys show the same level of commitment.

"We want to beat every team that we come across because a league is a marathon. It's not just about winning against Pirates but yes, it's very important for us as a club knowing the history. Every time we play against Pirates, we have to beat them," he concluded.
