Kimvuidi came from the bench early in the game, replacing an injured Vincent Pule, and changed the complexion of the game.
Bucs took the lead in the 25th minute through Deon Hotto’s well-executed free-kick and it was that solitary goal that steered them to their fourth win and extended their unbeaten streak to five matches.
Riveiro looks back at the win that took them back to the fifth spot.
"It was not something that we were planning to do but Pule got hit in his head, a concussion and we had to introduce Karim and Karim gave us uncertainty. To the opponent also he's a very good player to read between lines and he immediately started to create problems,” Riveiro said.
“We have a beautiful opportunity with lead with the pass from Karim to Rele [Relebohile Mofokeng]. So, overall important three points we can consolidate with this victory. So, I'm very happy for the boys because it's not happening for free, they are fighting a lot and now we are getting a little bit of a reward."
Kimvuidi, who was making his 11th appearance in the famous black and white jersey since he joined Bucs from the relegated Maritzburg United during the off-season, was credited by Riveiro for bringing a different dimension of play and helped to unlock a stubborn Galaxy team.
" Understanding that Patrick [Maswanganyi] can help us on the right side to have a little bit of time due to the Galaxy approach with not so much space in between lines. Karim can give you exactly that. It's very difficult against Galaxy to receive a good profile between lines in the other spaces. You are used to receiving negative positions many times and Karim has the capacity to convert those negative passes to positive passes. “Whether he turns with the ball or maybe with one touch, eliminate one line because like I said he's more unpredictable. He has the capacity sometimes to see some things that are difficult to see with that small fraction of time.
“That's why we decided to go with Karim and move Patrick to the right where he's also used to playing. I think that's somehow gave us something different."
