The Nigerian forward joined Leicester in 2017, arriving from Manchester City for a reported fee of ã25 million, which at the time was a record sum for a Nigerian player.
During his seven-year stint at the King Power Stadium, Iheanacho's time was marked by both challenges and triumphs. He made his debut for the Foxes in a Premier League match against Arsenal, but it wasn't until October of that year that he found the back of the net, scoring his first league goal in a 4-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Despite his initial promise, Iheanacho often found himself playing second fiddle to Leicester's talismanic striker Jamie Vardy, although he did occasionally partner with the England international in the attack.
One of Iheanacho's most memorable contributions came during Leicester's historic FA Cup-winning campaign in the 2020/2021 season. The Nigerian was instrumental in the Foxes' success, scoring four goals in six appearances, including a decisive brace against Manchester United in the quarter-finals.
This victory marked Leicester's first-ever FA Cup triumph, a moment that Iheanacho would later describe as one he would "forever cherish."
In his farewell message on Instagram, Iheanacho expressed his gratitude to the club, his teammates, and the fans.
"Thank you for the 7 years we shared, I'll forever cherish our 2021 FA Cup win," he wrote, adding, "Thanks to the owners who brought me to the club, all of my teammates in those years and the amazing Foxes fans!! All the best for the new season."
With his contract at Leicester having expired in June, the 27-year-old forward opted for a new challenge with Sevilla. He joins the Spanish club alongside Lucien Agoume as the record UEFA Europa League champions aim to bounce back from a disappointing previous season.
