Kevin De Bruyne, Marcus Rashford on Barcelona's transfer radar

Barcelona are navigating a complex transfer scenario with Dani Olmo potentially leaving due to financial constraints.

The club had spent 45 million euros to acquire Olmo in the summer, but his registration was only possible due to an injury to Andreas Christensen, allowing them to temporarily fit his salary within La Liga's wage cap.

Now, with Christensen back in action, Barcelona are at risk of breaching that cap, which might force Olmo out on a free transfer if no solution is found.

El Nacional has reported that Barcelona have "begun to accept" that they might lose Olmo, and they are now considering alternatives. Among these, Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City has emerged as a prime candidate.

The Belgian midfielder, according to the same source, "has made the decision to leave" City at the end of the season, which could allow Barcelona to sign him without a transfer fee. However, accommodating De Bruyne's reported 400,000 pounds weekly salary would require significant adjustments to Barcelona's wage structure, possibly involving several player exits.

However, there's skepticism about De Bruyne's move to Barcelona. Media speculation points towards a more probable transfer to the MLS or Saudi Arabia, where he could command a similar or higher salary without the financial juggling Barcelona would need to perform.

Barcelona's interest isn't limited to De Bruyne; they have also been linked with high-profile names like Heung-min Son, Mohamed Salah, and Leroy Sane, all of whom come with hefty salary expectations.

On the other hand, Marcus Rashford "has reportedly offered himself" to Barcelona, viewing a move there as an attractive prospect.

On the departure side, Frenkie de Jong "is seriously considering a move" to the Premier League, with Manchester United seen as the most likely destination.

If Olmo does leave, Manchester City are poised to act quickly, with reports indicating they are "accelerating" their interest in him, suggesting they would not mind De Bruyne's exit in this scenario.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have shown interest in Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku as a possible replacement for Olmo, potentially through a January loan deal where Chelsea would still cover part of his wages.

This transfer window could be a defining moment for Barcelona as they manage their squad under financial constraints, aiming to blend in new talents while keeping their competitive edge in La Liga and beyond.
