Kevin Kampl's injury sidelines RB Leipzig veteran

RB Leipzig have faced a setback with the news that Slovenian midfielder Kevin Kampl will be out through the October international break due to an adductor injury.

The 33-year-old playmaker, who has been a key figure in the team's midfield, has made four starts this season under coach Marco Rose, impressively scoring his 13th Bundesliga goal in a stunning victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

Kampl's absence was felt during Leipzig's recent Champions League match, raising concerns about a potential serious injury.

However, after undergoing an MRI, Rose reassured fans that the initial fears were unfounded.

Despite this relief, Kampl will miss at least four upcoming fixtures, with his return now expected no earlier than the league clash against Mainz on October 19.

In light of Kampl's injury, Rose confirmed plans for significant squad rotations ahead of their next Bundesliga match against St. Pauli.

Only goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi is guaranteed a starting spot.

Midfielders Nicolas Seiwald, Amadou Haidara, and Arthur Vermeeren are set to step up, with Vermeeren and Haidara having formed a solid partnership in training.
