Konrad Laimer hopes to take Bayern Munich to next level

Bayern Munich's new midfield signing, Konrad Laimer, is wasting no time in making a positive impact at the Bundesliga giants.

The Austrian midfielder, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig on 9th June 2023 on a free transfer until 30 June 2027, aims to showcase his versatility in various roles within the team's central midfield.

Laimer, 26, expressed his adaptability, stating, "I can play multiple positions, such as a No. 6 or No. 8. I feel at ease anywhere in midfield. I always give my all. I'm delighted that things are finally getting underway," as quoted via iMiaSanMia on Twitter.

Reflecting on the initial training sessions, Laimer acknowledged the intensity and commented, "We've had a limited number of sessions so far, but the training has been very demanding. It's evident where we're heading. It has been a fantastic start to the training camp."

Competing primarily with Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich, Laimer is aware of the challenge posed by Marcel Sabitzer and Ryan Gravneberch. However, he views this competition as a driving force for improvement, affirming, "It pushes everyone to perform at their best. Ultimately, we all strive to win. That's our main objective. Healthy competition is essential to elicit maximum performance from each individual."

Laimer also shared his thoughts on wearing the number 24 jersey, the upcoming Asia tour, and the comfort of speaking in his native dialect.

He explained, "I have always worn the number 24 in youth teams at Salzburg. The number was available, so I made a quick and easy decision. I'm eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Asia tour; it promises to be an incredible experience. Moreover, being able to converse more in my dialect here is fantastic. The integration process has been seamless. The training is rigorous, but overall, everything is excellent."

Laimer's impressive start, combined with his versatility and positive attitude, bodes well for Bayern Munich's ambitions in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
