The deal reportedly includes an option for Milan to purchase the 34-year-old right-back permanently for four million pounds.
Walker's move marks a potential conclusion to his illustrious tenure at Manchester City, where he transferred from Tottenham in 2017. Over his time with the Citizens, he has accumulated 319 appearances, scored six goals, and helped his teams secure 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League triumph.
As part of the loan agreement, Milan are set to cover the majority of Walker's wages, which stand at 150,000 pounds per week.
The decision to join Milan was influenced by their offer of a potential two-year contract based on his performances in the coming months, despite interest from other clubs.
In an emotional social media post, Walker reflected on his journey with Manchester City. "Manchester City - where do I start?" he wrote. "Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true. Seven years later, winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the famous treble, is something I could only have dreamt as a child."
He expressed gratitude towards his teammates, the coaching staff, and particularly Pep Guardiola. "To Pep Guardiola, thank you for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here in 2017.
"Together, we've celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today. I'll be forever grateful."
Meanwhile, Manchester City have turned their attention to Juventus' left-back Andrea Cambiaso. Reports suggest that City are planning to intensify their negotiations, with an offer expected to be in the range of 60 to 65 million euros, including add-ons.
However, Juventus are holding out for at least 80 million euros.
In other transfer news, Manchester City have been presented with the opportunity to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz but have shown no interest in pursuing the deal.
Juventus are reportedly looking for around 45 million pounds for Luiz, with Chelsea among the clubs monitoring the situation.
