Leverkusen sign Alejo Sarco and back Aleix Garcia for future success

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have made significant moves in both the present and future of their squad by signing Argentine prospect Alejo Sarco and standing firmly behind their summer acquisition Aleix Garcia.

Alejo Sarco, an 18-year-old attacking talent, joined Leverkusen from Velez Sarsfield on a free transfer with a contract running until 2029.

Although not expected to make an immediate impact, Sarco represents the long-term vision of the club. "Alejo Sarco is a promise for the future of Bayer 04 Leverkusen," said B04 managing director Simon Rolfes.

"With his finishing skills, he completes the profile of a modern center forward. Alejo has a promising career ahead of him."

Sarco himself expressed his excitement about moving to Europe, stating, "This step towards a top club in Europe; something I've always dreamt of. I followed the club's magnificent season last year.

"It's exciting for me to be part of this team in the future, and it's a great challenge to strengthen them with my abilities."

On the other hand, Aleix Garcia, who joined from Girona for a reported 18 million euros, has had a challenging start to his Leverkusen career. The 27-year-old midfielder has seen limited playing time, making 22 appearances, with only 11 starts. Despite his dissatisfaction, Garcia remains committed to proving his worth.

Simon Rolfes remains optimistic about Garcia's adaptation. "All new signings need a bit of time to settle into the team and get used to the style of play and the automatisms. The same goes for Aleix. I'm sure he can do a lot more," Rolfes said.

"He has the footballing ability. The sporting and social integration, as was the case with many of the players we brought in, takes a little time. He has already taken some steps.

"But I am convinced that in the second half of the season he will be able to bring his qualities to bear in a much more natural way."

Leverkusen's strategy seems clear: invest in youth for the future while nurturing current talents to adapt and thrive within their system. Both Sarco and Garcia are key pieces in this ongoing puzzle at Leverkusen.
