Linda Mntambo backing Sipho Mbule to rediscover form at Sekhukhune

Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo says there’s enthusiasm at the club about the arrival of midfielder Sipho Mbule.

The 26-year-old has joined Babina Noko on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns hoping to get regular game time under coach Lehlohonolo Seema.

Mntambo shared his views on having “MasterChef” alongside him this season.

"He just amazes me every time in training and just how he controls the ball and his vision and how he plays. Somehow, I just feel like sometimes he's just unfortunate but you can see with a lot of game time under his belt, he's going to show the people why he's called the Masterchef,” Mntambo said.

“I don't think he [would have] signed for Sundowns if he wasn't good enough and now that he has come to us, I think he also understands that he's coming into a new team, it's not about him but it's about the club.

“So, he needs to put the club first before himself and then, I think it will build well for us. As a club, I think we are excited."

Sekhukhune have also got former Orlando Pirates midfielders Thabang Monare and Lesedi Kapinga in addition to Mbule on their books.

Mntambo argues the team just needs to find their rhythm having done well in the market.

"Not only about him, having an experienced player, a South African international in Thabang Monare also joining us. Now we've just got Lesedi Kapinga and a few young players who want to prove a point, who are always impressing at training, and friendly matches that we play.

“So, I think we've got quite a solid team, we just need to get the cohesion amongst us and just move in the right direction.

As the leader of the team, Mntambo has taken it upon himself to remind the new players of the objectives, especially those coming from the traditional big clubs.”
