Liverpool keen on Egyptian star Omar Marmoush as Premier League interest grows

Liverpool have reportedly initiated talks to sign Omar Marmoush, the Egyptian forward currently impressing at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 25-year-old, known for his versatility across multiple positions, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, sources suggest Marmoush views Liverpool as a "dream" destination, inspired by his Egyptian teammate Mohamed Salah, with whom he has played 26 matches for Egypt.

Marmoush's admiration for Salah and Liverpool is evident, and the Reds are said to be prepared to meet his valuation, with an offer in the region of £50m reported by Sky Germany.

Despite Chelsea and Manchester United's interest, Marmoush's preference for Liverpool could be a deciding factor.

If signed, Marmoush would not directly replace Salah but rather bolster Liverpool's forward line with his versatility.

According to Transfermarkt, he has featured in five different positions this season, primarily on the left.

His statistics reflect a rising output, with 11 goal contributions in just eight games in the 2024/25 season, showcasing his skill in take-ons, progressive carries, and drawing fouls.

As he nears the final two years of his contract, Frankfurt are keen to raise Marmoush's salary to £2.9m annually, though this would still make him one of Liverpool's lower-paid players if a transfer materialises.
