Liverpool missing key players ahead of Newcastle encounter

Liverpool face off against Newcastle United on Wednesday in their latest Premier League encounter, but the Reds will be missing key players due to injury concerns.

Conor Bradley, who sustained an injury during Liverpool's match against Aston Villa, will not feature against Newcastle.

The young full-back was replaced after just 23 minutes in that game and missed the win over Manchester City. His availability for next week's trip to Paris Saint-Germain is still uncertain.

"Conor doesn't [train with us], he will be out for a few weeks. I cannot tell exactly how many but it was clear he went off with a muscle injury. That's going to take a while before he is back," said Slot.

Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton, both of whom underwent surgery earlier this month, are sidelined for the fixture. Meanwhile, Alexis Mac Allister will be available despite a recent black eye, ensuring Liverpool retain options in midfield.

Cody Gakpo, who picked up an ankle injury during the team's clash with Everton two weeks ago, missed subsequent matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Villa.

Although he returned to training over the weekend and made a brief appearance off the bench against Manchester City, his fitness remains a question mark for the start against Newcastle.

Diogo Jota, who has also been recovering from injury, remains an uncertainty for the starting lineup.
