Abafana Bes’thende followed up on their 2-0 win over Stellenbosch last week by beating Marumo Gallants by the same score line in Durban on Saturday.
Khenyeza said given that their preparations for their first home match of the campaign were not ideal, credit must go to his players.
"It's good for the players, we need to give our players credit again because they played even though it was difficult to prepare for the game. We only had one day, to go to camp and we only arrived Thursday around 08:30 to 09:00. Against a team that was ready and refreshed, the last time they played was Saturday last week at around 5pm,” Khenyeza said.
“They had about close to six days waiting for us. We struggled a bit in terms of the sharpness of our players, a little bit of combination plays but we were struggling a bit, which is good for the players because we've realised that [when] we can't play, let's absolve pressure and deal with the second phase.
“If they attack us, we immediately win the ball for transition then we can capitalise."
This sort of flying start is nothing new to Arrows having begun the previous campaign in similar fashion, only for the wheels to come off later.
Khenyeza, however, preferred to leave that discussion in “the past” when asked about consistency this time around.
"I think we're only focusing on the future, forget about the past, in the past, we only learn lessons. I think everyone now is just focusing on the future because if you are gonna dwell on the past, again, you'll have fear to do something because you'll keep looking back at the previous season but this is a new season."
