Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams identifies biggest AnaZulu threat

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams believes AmaZulu are reaping the rewards of Bongani Zungu’s instant impact ahead of their meeting at Lucas Moripe Stadium tonight.

The log leaders host Usuthu in the Betway Premiership, where the Durban outfit currently occupy sixth spot.

Adams has identified the former Downs player, who joined AmaZulu in December last year, as one of the major threats he will need to look out for.

"He is an experienced player and a ball player,” says Adams, who himself arrived in Chloorkop from Stellenbosch in January.

“I also think the fact that he comes from Sundowns is also a factor, so this is going to be an interesting battle for me in the midfield.”

Since turning a new page in Durban, the former Amiens and Rangers midfielder has made 11 appearances and scored one goal for Arthur Zwane’s charges, and will be facing his former club for the first time since leaving for Europe in 2016.

But Adams adds that Zungu is not the only player capable of winning matches for the team currently unbeaten without conceding in their last three games.

"I think Rowan Human is on form now, as well as Rian Hanamub playing out in the flanks for AmaZulu,” the Bafana Bafana star added.

"We’re going to expect a very energetic team – they love to press high and sometimes in a low block, but I think our preparation was great because we’ve worked on a few new things.”
