The Brazilians returned from Tunisia last weekend under pressure to now win at home to progress to the final of the continental tournament.
Williams, who is also the Bafana Bafana captain, says the squad thrives in matches of this magnitude with so much at stake.
"We enjoy playing these games you know, it brings the best out of us as you saw last week, going away to Tunisia and giving the performance that we did away from home. It speaks volume of what we're building at the club. So, tomorrow [Friday night] we'll have that extra energy behind us with the Masandawana, the fans getting behind us and obviously the Mashata [Peter Mabusa] spirit, hopefully that can energise us as well and push us. We're looking forward to it, we're excited and we know what we need to do in order to be in the final," Williams said.
Williams also made reference to the AFL final in November last year when Sundowns lost 2-1 to Wydad Casablanca in the first leg away from home, but were solid at Loftus Stadium to beat their Moroccan rivals 3-2 on aggregate to be crowned champions.
"Obviously we draw inspiration from the AFL final where we lost away from home but in that game it was a bit different because we had an away goal so now it's a bit different," Williams added.
But then again you draw inspiration from the Champions League that you watch now, Real Madrid, Man City [Manchester City], Barcelona, PSG. You know, just go out there and play the game, win the game, that's the important thing. There's two important things for us, it's not to concede and I don't think we concede a lot of goals at home."
